Sandbach woman takes on 13 mile walk and bake sale for cancer research support

A Sandbach woman is getting ready to step out on a 13 mile walk in aid of Cancer Research UK as well as holding a bake sale and tombola at next weekend's transport festival.
The brave 52-year-old from Price Avenue is stepping out on Cancer Research UK's 'Big Hike' event in Derbyshire on June 14th but before she does that, Jo is holding an event in Sandbach next weekend.
On Saturday (April 26th) Jo Samuels is having a bake sale and tombola stand at Sandbach Transport Festival - the first day of the two-day event. She has set up a special page here for people to make donations for her Cancer Research UK efforts.
Jo has approached local businesses to donate prizes and is hoping as many people as possible will buy tombola tickets and boost her campaign.

And she is hoping to get her mum, Helen Kennett, an artist, to donate one of her paintings to the tombola.
"Ideally I would like to raise at least £600 from the two events. Cancer Research funds research for all types of cancer. We all know someone who has had cancer or has just been diagnosed," said Jo.
"I just want to help as many people as I can. I've done something similar before for Macmillan Cancer Support but this one is for Cancer Research UK."
Jo keeps fit by walking around five miles a day along the Salt Line and in Brereton getting ready for her 'Big Hike' event in June.
"My sister-in-law, my sister and step father have all had cancer. Cancer Research UK is still an important organisation."
