Sandbach's nine-day walking festival closes today (Sunday) – the end of an action-packed nine-day programme of 42 walks.

The annual Sandbach Walking Festival is organised by Sandbach Footpaths Group, whose aim is to protect, improve and extend the network of public footpaths in and around the town.

The opening walk was co-led by Mayor of Sandbach Cllr Laura Crane starts at 10.30am from the historic cobbled Market Square through the park to Dingle Wood and back to the Cobbles.

The event started with six walks including the monthly dog walk hosted by Old Hall, Sandbach around 4 miles and stile free, starting from the pub at 9.30 am.

Further details of the event can be found on the Facebook page here
