Saturday football: Sandbach Curshaws run up double-figures against local rivals

THERE were mixed fortunes for Sandbach sides in the CREWE AND DISTRICT LEAGUE at the weekend.
Sandbach Curshaws maintained their 100 per cent start when running up double figures at Elworth Park Rangers. It was a tough afternoon for the league newcomers who were on the end of a 10-1 thrashing.
Sam Critchley netted four times for Curshaws and Gary Cardno grabbed a brace. Fraser Keena, Chris Shaw, Ryan Simmons and Liam Tetlow were also on the scoresheet.
Meanwhile, Sandbach Town were edged out by a 1-0 margin at Crewe Town Jaguars for whom Adam Grant scored the decisive goal.
Elsewhere, Mary Dendy faced new boys Crewe Town Reserves and picked up their first points of the season with a a 3-1 success. Bjorn Hughes fired in twice and substitute Alex Hollinshead was also on the sheet.
