Age UK Cheshire has announced it's holding a series of free, informative events titled "Scam Proof? Protect Yourself and Others from Fraud," aimed at raising awareness and equipping the community with essential tools to prevent fraud.

The events will take place during the third week of October, designed to help people identify, prevent, and protect against the increasing threat of scams.

And there's one in Sandbach at Sandbach Town Hall on Tuesday, October 15th from 2.30 pm until 4.30 pm.

It will highlight the tactics used by fraudsters—whether over the phone, online, or at the doorstep—and offer practical strategies to protect personal and financial information. The sessions are designed for residents and those working or volunteering with older people.

Admission is free and it's open to all ages.

• Expert Speakers: Hear from representatives of Cheshire East Council Trading Standards, Cheshire Police, the Crown Prosecution Service, and the Age UK Cheshire Scams Awareness Team.

• Community Resources: Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with local organisations dedicated to protecting older adults from scams.
