From Australia to Cheshire: the journey which led to the launch of a Sandbach veterinary practice

Cheshire Pet Sandbach was set up 17 years ago by Australian vet Cameron Muir as a 'friendly vets for family pets'. A nod to the Australian connection can be found in the kangaroo image above the Winterley reception.
Owning a dog or cat is a great life-changing experience, providing hours of enjoyment and fun not only for the pet owner but for also for friends and family.
Dogs are man's best friend while cats are the purrfect companion for others but how do you ensure you get the very best care for animals in your care?
The Winterley base is at Wheelock Heath Business Court, surrounded by beautiful countryside. The practice now also has a branch in Vicarage Lane in Elworth, Sandbach.
"We very much aim to be a friendly vet, having a tailored plan for every client. We treat every pet as our own. We treat mainly cats and dogs but also small animals such as guinea pigs, rabbits and rats," said Clinical director, Rachel Booth.
"Our aim is to make a visit here as stress-free as possible for the animal and client. Anxiety in dogs has got much worse and we work hard to ensure we provide a calm and stress-free environment. We will tailor a plan to whatever is needed.

Many of the practice's clients take part in the Pet Health Club which provides affordable healthcare covering such things as core vaccinations and boosters, kennel cough vaccination and a comprehensive health check.
The monthly plan, available at two levels - essential and plus - provides peace of mind for many pet owners and helps with long-term planning of owning a pet.

And being part of the Pet Health Club means the practice can process pet insurance claims on behalf of the client free of charge, taking the stress out of making claims.
The Winterley branch has a separate reception and waiting area for dogs and cats. The practice has achieved silver status cat friendly status.
Walking round both branches, it's certainly a warm, welcoming experience not only for the animal but also for owners - essential to ensure everyone is relaxed

Not only is care second-to-none, Cheshire Pet Sandbach is also equipped with cutting-edge technology such as a CT scanner for imaging top to toe, as well as having endoscopy, ultrasound, and x-ray facilities, including dental x-rays, alongside operating theatres.
"Our aim is to provide the very best care for your pet whatever their age or condition is," said Rachel. "We know how much you love your pets, and we take special care to make sure that they receive the highest quality veterinary care available."
