A local accountancy shop which signed up more than 100 clients just six months after opening on Nantwich's high street, is eyeing up an expansion to Sandbach.

The New Age Accountants, 30 Hospital Street, Nantwich, first launched on April 13, bringing a family-run accountancy service directly onto Nantwich's high street.

The shop is run by Mandy Morley, Jamie Reilly and Olivia Palios, who have already secured 30 five-star Google reviews and are now recruiting their first additional staff member.

The team told Nub News: "So far, we have not yet been trading for six month, we will be by the 13 October, and we've just got over 100 clients.

"That is three times what we were expecting, so it has been a bit wild. We've got 30 five-star Google reviews and we're already looking to recruit.

"We put an advert up last week, which is six months ahead of when we originally planned. We weren't expecting to recruit until April, so it's amazing.

"We've had quite a lot of applicants already. A lot of them don't have experience and we specifically want this person to have experience, so we're going to give it a few extra days to narrow it down.

"The New Age Accountants is recruiting ahead of demand, we don't get a day past where someone isn't phoning, popping in, or emailing with a new enquiry.

"We're planning on growing, and once we've got this new staff member, it will keep us free to keep clients happy and sign up new ones."

The New Age Accountants originally launched with more than 50 years of combined finance and accounting experience between its three founders.

The team said the high street location has been key to its rapid growth, with people regularly walking past, spotting the shop and dropping in for a chat.

It has worked with a mix of clients, from sole traders to small and medium-sized limited companies across a range of industries.

The team said: "The response from Nantwich residents has been very warm and welcoming.

"People are coming to us because of the friendly, family-run, approachable feel we offer compared to larger firms."

New Age Accountants is preparing to expand into Crewe, with a virtual office due to open at CoSpace on Electra Way in mid-October.

The new base will provide a Crewe office listing on Google and allow the business to rent meeting rooms to see clients.

New Age Accountants is also continuing to work with Nantwich firms through its £20 referral voucher scheme, now involving more than 20 local businesses.

It plans to take part in Nantwich's Christmas late-night opening on December 3, staying open until 7pm and serving mulled wine.

The shop's window display will also be ready for Nantwich's Christmas lights switch-on on November 25.

Looking ahead to its first anniversary in 2027, the team plans to take a stall at Nantwich Market in April to promote the business ahead of the new tax year.

The New Age Accountants is also looking at opening a new office in Sandbach in due course.

It is open in Nantwich from 9am to 4pm Monday to Thursday, and 9am to 1pm on Fridays, with appointments available outside these hours on request. For enquiries, call 01270 236416.
