By Deborah Bowyer 6th May 2026
Staff were evacuated at 4 am today (Wednesday) after a fire at Jet2's Retail Operations Centre in Middlewich.
Fire engines from Middlewich, Holmes Chapel and Crewe went to the blaze involving a piece of machinery and a skip at the commercial premises in Pochin Way.
A spokesperson from Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service said: "Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets to bring the fire under control.
"To improve access, firefighters cut a hole in the side of the skip, which was then moved away from the building. Its contents have been removed and thoroughly dampened down.
"The premises was fully evacuated and all persons were accounted for. Firefighting operations are still taking place."
