Storm Chandra brings high winds and rain causing difficult driving conditions

High winds and rain have caused havoc in Sandbach and surrounding areas as Storm Chandra moves through the area.
Cheshire Police say they were aware of a number of reports of fallen trees across the county as a result of storm Chandra and are urging motorists to check for any road closures before travelling.
Elsewhere, high winds have brought down power cables with house in outlying areas left without power for a while.
And Malkins Bank Golf Club in Sandbach closed its clubhouse and clourse earlier to allow checks to be made and carry out repairs after trees fell down on the course.

A spokesperson said on Social Media: "Due to the heavy winds, we've had to close the golf course and clubhouse for now while our team checks everything over and carries out any necessary repairs. We have some trees down on the course
"And a driving range that's seen better days! The safety of our members, visitors, and staff always comes first. Thank you so much for your understanding—we'll keep you updated and hope to welcome you back very soon ."
The Met Office has issued to Amber weather warnings across the UK and issued the following advice to motorists driving in strong winds:
- Drive slowly to minimise the impact of wind gusts
- Be aware of high sided vehicles/caravans on more exposed roads
- Be cautious overtaking high sided vehicles/caravans
- Make sure you hold the steering wheel firmly
- Give cyclists, motorcyclists, lorries and buses more room than usual
