Pupils at a Sandbach primary school will be brushing up on their baking skills – thanks to another successful cake sale.

Elworth Hall School's Year 2 pupils raised a bumper £340 from their impressive cake sale on Friday afternoon – part of the school's summer bake sale challenge.

Each week different classes have been holding a cake sale and last week it was the turn of Year 2.

Now the money is going towards funding two mobile ovens so pupils can take part in cookery and baking lessons.

A spokesman from Elworth Hall School Association said: "We've had great involvement from parents and carers which is vital to EHSA and us continuing to function. We're very grateful to all who are baking and buying the cakes."

A parent of one Year 2 child said: "It's a great competition and we thoroughly enjoyed getting into it last week and what an amazing thing to buy for the children with the money raised."
