Talented artist brings a brush of festive success to retailers throughout Sandbach
A Sandbach artist is bringing festive cheer to the town by using her artistic skills to tell a different story in each shop window.
Victoria Holland was asked by the Friends of Sandbach Station to do some artwork on the waiting room windows some time ago.
The project was a massive success bringing cheer to travellers arriving and departing from the station.
And now the enterprising art student is taking her skills to other towns as well as Sandbach where she lives.
Victoria completed one of her latest projects in Sandbach at hairdresser, Hair & Barber Works in Welles Street where she has created a winter wonderland.
The stunning design features scissors and a trimmer plus an owl and lanterns.
Across the road at Stride Clinic, Victoria has painted a snow scene with a skater and a snow man.
Victoria has done Christmas window designs for several retailers in Sandbach and is also spreading her artistic flair to Alsager.
Victoria runs her own business, Victoria's Art Studio alongside studying for a BA in Fine Art at Manchester School of Art.
She said: "The idea actually came out of Covid. I wasn't able to do my usual teaching of art to children so I came up with this idea.
"I design the artwork on my I pad then I use acrylic paint and pencils to do the designs. The paints wash off but last as long as you want the design."
"They work really well on shop windows and the business has really taken off."
Debbie Carrahar, owner of unisex salon HBW Hair & Barber Works is delighted with her window.
She said: "I wanted to cheer my window up. The children love the design and enjoy walking past. It's a great idea."
