Staff at Elworth Hall Primary School in Sandbach were treated to a big surprise on the last day of the summer term - thanks to members of the parent and teacher association.

Elworth Hall School Association (EHSA) put together a hamper packed with freshly baked scones, a selection of jams and clotted cream and strawberries from local suppliers.

A spokesman for EHSA said: "We wanted to say thank you to all staff. It has been a difficult year and we felt the whole team needed a surprise to show our appreciation.

"So, with the help of some fabulous local businesses, we put together a hamper full of scones from Banneton and Couche, jams from Mrs Darlington's and clotted cream and strawberries from the Co-op.

"Thank you to everyone who made this happen. Your generous support is so greatly appreciated.

"We hope that all the staff team enjoyed this little treat and that you all have a wonderful summer."
