A teacher from Sandbach is putting his best foot forward next weekend to raise money for St Luke's Hospice.

Father-of-three Liam Cronin will be starting his run, some of it on Patryck's Path, on Saturday 3 October.

Starting at 9am at Sandbach Rugby Club, he'll be running two miles on the hour, every hour, for 24 hours and to make sure he reaches his target of 50 miles, he will run four miles in the first hour before settling into two miles at the start of every hour after that.

He said: "I've taken on the challenge because I wanted to do something that really pushes me, while raising money and awareness for a charity that means so much to so many local families.

"I know it's going to be physically and mentally tough, especially through the night, but that's all part of the challenge.

"One of the things I'm hoping will make the event even more special is getting the local community involved. Everyone is welcome to come along and join me for as many laps as they'd like—whether that's one lap or several.

"The more people who get involved, the better the atmosphere will be, and hopefully we can raise even more money for St Luke's Hospice."

Liam teaches at a primary school in Stoke and has run for most his life. At the school where he traches he runs the cross country club .

Donations can be made through his JustGiving page here or on the day at Sandbach Rugby Club, and every contribution, no matter the size, will help support the work St Luke's Hospice does for local people and their families
