A community cinema project which has been running for 13 years has sadly come to an end - after the company retired.

Sandbach Town Council has been running the monthly Sandbach Community Cinema since 2011 and the screenings have been hugely popular.

Yesterday's screening of 'Wicked Little Letters', based on a true scandal following an investigation into the anonymous author of insulting letters sent to the residents of seaside town, was sadly the last.

A spokesperson said: "Due to the sudden retirement of Reels on Wheels, we have been unable to find another provider to continue our monthly shows.

"We will continue to search for a replacement and if we are successful. we will reach out on our mailing lists and on the website.

"If anyone knows of a suitable alternative provider please let us know. Finally, on behalf of Sandbach Town Council, we wish to thank each and everyone who has supported us on our monthly cinema nights and in our free community events since we started in 2011."

The film nights, which took place in the ballroom at Sandbach Town Hall, started with the screening of the 'War Horse' film.
