Three fire engines go to fire on the slip road on the M6 near Sandbach

Three fire engines went to a vehicle on fire on the slip road of the M6 near Sandbach yesterday (Sunday).

One fire engine from Sandbach, one from Middlewich and another from Crewe went to the incident on 00.28 am on the M6 south between junctions 18 and 17.

A spokesperson from Cheshire Fire and Rescue service said: "A vehicle that was well alight on a slip road of the M6 was attended by firefighters who extinguished it with a hose reel.

"Two lanes were closed by Highways Agency while they dealt with the fire."
