Traffic was held up on the Haslington by-pass yesterday (Thursday) afternoon after a wheel came off a van.

Queues of traffic formed while the occupants of the white van waited for a new wheel to be fitted on the road between Sandbach and Crewe.

A spokesperson from Cheshire police said: "This was just a breakdown after a wheel came off a van at 2pm.

"Officers didn't attend, the vehicle was recovered by a breakdown company."
