Two lanes of the M6 northbound between junctions 16 and 17 were closed yesterday (Sunday) after a campervan caught fire.

Two fire engines from Crewe and one from Congleton went to the incident happened at 2.24 pm.

A spokesperson Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service said: "Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to extinguish the fire.

"The vehicle was made safe before the incident was handed over to National Highways."
