Two Sandbach sisters who ran the Manchester half-marathon yesterday (Sunday) for the Alzheimer's Society have raised nearly £900.

Charlotte Price-Jones, a paramedic and Rebecca Price-Jones, a physiotherapist, raised the funds in memory of their beloved nan.

One of their grandmothers suffered from Alzheimer's, a brain disorder that slowly destroys memory and thinking skills, and eventually, the ability to carry out the simplest tasks, before she died.

There is still time to donate to the page and help the girls raise even more cash for the cause.

The sisters are the daughters of former Sandbach mayor and Sandbach Town Councillor, Geraint Price-Jones.

Charlotte said previously: "We have seen first-hand the heart ache this disease causes and the work this charity does is invaluable."

The girls' mum, Christine Price-Jones said: "Your Nan would be proud of you both too and after Grandad joined her recently, he will also be looking down and smiling at you too."
