UP CLOSE: Meet the former tailor’s cutter and fashion designer cutting a real dash in the home interiors market
Furnishing a home from scratch or updating a new one can be a time-consuming and stressful move.
But a stylish couple from Sandbach are taking the pain out of getting it right and helping homeowners and businesses create beautiful interiors at their impressive new showroom.

And they have opened an amazing showroom for their business, The Design House by Interior Motives, on Manor Point business Park in Manor Lane, Holmes Chapel to showcase their work.
Mark Scott and wife Maxine have kitted out homes and rooms for clients all over the country and indeed the world.
So happy were one couple that they were invited to project manage and design a home on the sun-kissed island of Mallorca.
"The beauty of our business is that everything can be done under one roof," said Mark.
"We can manage the project from start to finish and provide a service tailored to a client's needs.

"This could be anything from transforming a rustic farmhouse to giving one room in a house or flat a facelift.
"We will do whatever a client needs and work within their budget. We will source everything for them and get it installed, from wallpaper to flooring and lighting."

And Mark (pictured above) , who went to Sandbach School in his youth and grew up in the town, knows a thing or two about style and fashion.
Starting life as a tailor's cutter some 30 years ago in nearby Crewe, Mark became a trainee estate agent before moving into property software as a high-flying sales consultant.
He has a real eye for interior style and so does his wife, Maxine, who started life as a fashion designer quickly turning her design skills into interiors.

"It started many years ago when I employed a company to complete an interior design project at my home," said Maxine,
"I wasn't happy so I set about learning the skills myself and learning how to make curtains which isn't that different from making clothes.
"The rest is history. I love interiors and creating beautiful spaces and homes for clients to live in and enjoy their lives."

And it's this ability to design homes to match lifestyles and fit their purpose which the couple enjoy.
At their stylish Holmes Chapel showroom visitors will find room sets, each combining different colours, fabrics and textures.
One has a 'relaxed tropical' feel, complete with a mix of oriental colours and items, including a huge statement mirror.

"Little changes can mean a lot," said Mark. "It's about installing things in the right place, at the right height and not having undersized accessories."
So what is the Scott's own home in Elworth, Sandbach like?
"Like everything we do it's designed to live in," said Mark. "It's stylish but practical. We have two dogs and family often visit."
An island in the kitchen forms a focal point and so do stunning images bought during a memorable holiday to Mexico.
"We found them in a street market and brought them back to the UK. The expressions on the faces are incredible and light up the room."
