Van driver, 71, dies after hit-and-run on M6 near Sandbach

A van driver has died following a crash on the M6 near Sandbach.
Cheshire Police have launched an investigation following a fatal crash on the motorway, between junction 16 for Crewe and junction 17 Sandbach and Congleton.
Officers were called to the scene on the northbound carriageway at around 6.15am on Friday, May 23.
The incident involved a silver Volkswagen Transporter van and another vehicle as yet unknown.
The driver of the van, a 71-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and has since died in hospital.
His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.
The other vehicle left the scene following the crash and officers are now working to identify it and its driver, with witnesses urged to come forward.
Sergeant Andrew Dennison, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "If you witnessed the incident and have information which may aid us in locating the driver of the other vehicle, I would urge you to get in touch.
"If you have any information that may help, or you are the driver of the vehicle, please come forward and help us with our enquiries."
