A week on, and the busy Arclid traffic lights near Sandbach look very different.

Gone is the former Zest Indian Brasserie at Newcastle Road junction. The area is now completely flattened.

Sandbach Nub News told here how the former derelict restaurant had been bulldozed amid fears vandals or rough sleepers could spark a major fire.

The owners of the land applied to Cheshire East Council for permission to bulldoze the building to clear the site as revealed in our story here

In December of last year, Cheshire East Council turned down plans for the building to be demolished and replaced with 12 apartments.

Let's hope it's not too long before there's a new plan for the site and the empty space is filled with something else.
