It's Easter weekend and residents are set to have a cracking time with an array of religious services, a 100th Anniversary celebration for the War Memorial and live football.

Here are our top event picks for the coming days:

Good Friday – April 15th   

St Mary's Church, Sandbach has the 'Stations of the Cross' event from 10 am until 2pm. At 2 pm there's meditation and 7pm the Service of Shadows at St Mary's.

Saturday, April 16th

It's 100 years since the Sandbach War Memorial came into being. At 3pm, there's a celebration to mark the event. All are welcome and it's free.

Sunday, April 17th

Easter Sunday is a time for family celebrations and the one day when you can eat chocolate for breakfast!

For those wanting to keep fit , Sandbach Striders is a running club for all abilities based out of Sandbach Rugby Club on Bradwall Road.

They meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights and Sundays at 9.30 am the latter for a 'long slow run' to be confirmed.

There are services at various churches in the area for Easter, including St Mary's in Sandbach with a 6am Sunrise Service followed by breakfast and Parish Eucharist at 10am.

There is also a family service on Easter Sunday at 10.30 am in Sandbach Town Hall.

At St Peter's in Elworth, there's all age Holy Communion at 10.30 am and Holy Communion at 6.30 pm.

Easter Monday, April 18th

Sandbach United Football Club are at home in Hind Heath Road to FC Isle of Man in the League Cup Round Three with a 1.45 pm kick-off. Go along and support the Bach ... it's guaranteed to be a fun match!
