t's the first weekend of May and there's lots happening in Sandbach. There's a wine and chill evening,  the Mayor's big charity gig and a birds of prey photography workshop to name a few.

Every Thursday we bring you our top picks of events in Sandbach happening over the coming weekend.

Here are our top event picks for the coming days:

Friday May 6th

The famous Bluebell Walk at Rode Hall, Scholar Green and runs until tomorrow (May 7th) from 11am - 4pm. All details on their website www.rodehall.co.uk

Tickets can be pre-booked online https://bit.ly/3iusJQEP or purchased on the gate, on the day. The courtyard kitchen cafe is be open selling homemade cakes, soups, oak cakes, sausage and bacon baps. Dogs on leads are welcome.

At the Black Cat Coffee House in Welles Street there's a 'wine and chill' evening with live music from Jigsaw Jane from 7pm until 9.30 pm.

Go along for a relaxing evening of wine, antipasti and chilled music.

Saturday, May 7th     

 

If you like outdoor markets, Rode Hall in Scholar Green not far from Sandbach has its Bluebell farmers market on from 9am until 1.30 pm. Over 70 artisan food and craft stalls socially distanced in the spacious barns and surroundings. 

Live music and the courtyard kitchen will be serving homemade cakes, bacon and sausage baps, oatckaes and refreshments and it's the last day of the bluebell walks.  

In the evening, Sandbach Mayor's fundraising event takes place at Sandbach Town Hall with live music from Greg Murray and the 7 Wonders with support from LOLI

The event runs from 7.30 pm until 11.30 pm. Tickets are £15, including food and proceeds go to the Mayor's charity, the North West Air Ambulance.

Sunday, May 8th

If photography is your passion, there's an interesting event. A Sandbach-based photographer is giving a Birds of Prey photography shoot at Glebe Farm Astbury starting at 10am and running until 3pm with a break for lunch.

Static images in a studio in the morning with owls, buzzards and in-flight flying photos in the afternoon (weather dependant) and  maybe a little time for handling if you're brave enough!

Professional photographer and falconer will be on hand to help and instruct.

For those wanting to keep fit, Sandbach Striders is a running club for all abilities based out of Sandbach Rugby Club on Bradwall Road.

They meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights and Sundays at 9.30 am the latter for a 'long slow run' to be confirmed.
