It's the first weekend of the month and an action-packed weekend ahead – live music, summer fair and car boot sales.        

We've gone through and picked out a few but if we've missed anything please let us know.

Every Thursday, we bring you our top picks of events in Sandbach happening over the coming weekend.

Here are our top event picks for the coming days:

Friday, August 4th   

The Cheshire Cheese in Wheelock has an open mic night starting at 9 pm. All welcome.

Saturday, August 5th

St Peter's Church in Elworth has a car boot sale (table top if wet) from 9 am until 12 noon. Cars cost £10 and a car and a trailer £15. Refreshments will be available. Phone 07779 913537 for details.

Rode Hall Farmer's Market is on from 9 am until 1.30 pm. The craft barn will be full of a wide variety of artisan crafts including some beautiful new crotchet work wooden houses while the courtyard kitchen will be open as usual serving breakfast baps, homemade cakes and lunches. Dawson Dean will be playing live and the summer gardens will be open.

Sandbach United's first team are away to Ashville with a 3 pm kick-off.

Meanwhile, Sandbach United Football Club is holding its third major music event, Sandbach Live 23, and the headline band is a Stone Roses tribute act, Adored as we revealed here

The line-up includes Bored Adventures, local musician, Ben Cornes and Manchester-based James Hartley. Tickets cost £15 each, available from here with under 16s free with every paying adult. 

At the Lower Chequer, Biff & JJ 'Rock Up' at 9 pm with their acoustic talents.

Sunday, August 6th

There's another car boot sale this time at Sandbach Cricket Club in Hind Heath Road as revealed here

Gates will be open at 6 am and the event is on until 11.30 am with buyers admitted from 7.30 am. The entry fee is £10 for cars and £12 for vans.

Meanwhile, at Elworth Grange there's a summer fair fro 2 pm until 4 pm with live entertainment, homemade refreshments, children's activities, a bouncy castle and stalls.
