It's a busy weekend ahead with the Makers Market, Remembrance events, live rugby and football and live music.

Here are our top event picks for the coming days:

Friday, November 11th  

It's Remembrance Day and there's a service at the War Memorial in Market Square at 11 am with two minutes' silence.

Sandbach Rugby Club in Bradwall Road sees the 3rd XV take on 2nd XV with a 7.30 pm kick-off.

Elworth Cricket Club has a cheese and wine evening from 7 pm.

Saturday, November 12th 

At Sandbach Cricket Club, there's an action-packed Remembrance Festival with live music, face painting, bouncy castle and a military assault course. The event starts at 9 am and goes on until around 11.30 pm.

It's Sandbach Makers Market and there are nearly 90 artisans with bakes, cakes, makes and snacks plus much more. It takes place from 10 am and 3 pm and is not to be missed.

Meanwhile at Sandbach Rugby Club in Bradwall Road, the 1st and 2nd XVs take on top of the table Blackburn Rugby Club.

Kick-off for the 1st is 2.15 pm while the 2s kick-off at 1.30 pm.

Sandbach United Football Club aka The Ramblers take on Cheadle Town Football Club at home with a 3 pm kick-off.

In the evening, the Military Arms in Congleton Road has Henry Myles entertaining at 7.30 pm while there's an open mic at the Cheshire Cheese in Wheelock.

Sunday, November 13th  

There are Remembrance Parades taking place throughout the town and motorists are advised to be aware of this.

A Remembrance Parade will leave Cheshire East Council's HQ, Westfields to march to the centre of Sandbach.

Lions Brass Band will be at the Market Square at 10.20 am while the parade leaves from Westfields in Middlewich Road at 10.40 pm with Roberts Bakery Band leading the procession. There will be a two minutes silence at 11 am at the War Memorial followed by an 11.15am service at St Mary's Church.

 



Meanwhile in Elworth a Remembrance Parade will march from Elworth Methodist Church at around 10.50 am.

There is a 10am Service at Elworth Methodist Church with a two minutes silence at the War Memorial at 11 am.

If running is your thing, Sandbach Striders is a running club for all abilities based out of Sandbach Rugby Club on Bradwall Road.

They meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights and Sundays at 9.30 am the latter for a 'long slow run' to be confirmed.
