What's On in Sandbach this weekend: Dog walk, comedy night, pottery and live music

It's the weekend of the Women's Euro final and it's the start of the season for our local team.

But it's not all football – there's plenty of other things happening including a comedy night, pottery session and live music.

Every Thursday we bring you our top picks of events in Sandbach happening over the coming weekend.

Here are our top event picks for the coming days:

Friday, July 29th

It's the Comedy Hotspot night at Sandbach Town Hall with four amazing comedians.

Hosting the show is Nina Gilligan, allegedly one of the finest MC's anywhere in comedy.

Opening is Scott Bennett, in the middle Lenny Sherman and closing is Brennan Reece.

Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm. Tickets cost £13 in advance or £15 on the door.

Saturday, July 30th   

Fancy walking with your dog? Sandbach's Old Hall has a monthly dog walk. No need to book, just turn up at 9.30 am for a bacon sandwich and a brew setting off for a walk around Sandbach.

It's free of charge, but any donations to Sandbach Animal Rescue are greatly appreciated.

At the Potters Barn in Roughwood Lane, there is a Long Craft pottery session from 1 pm until 5 pm. 

Meanwhile the new season kicks off at Sandbach United Football Club in Hind Heath Road against Rocester FC at 3pm.

The opening of the Andrew Kimber memorial stand will take place before the game, our 250th Competitive fixture since joining The North West Counties Football League.

Wheelock Heath Baptist Church also has a family sports day from 2 pm - 4 pm. The church is in Hassall Road, Winterley.

At the Cheshire Cheese in Wheelock, JMD are back at 8.30 pm playing a range of music from pop and rock classics to present day music.

Sunday, July 31st    

If running is more your thing, Sandbach Striders is a running club for all abilities based out of Sandbach Rugby Club on Bradwall Road.

They meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights and Sundays at 9.30 am the latter for a 'long slow run' to be confirmed.

Meanwhile the Women's Euro final featuring England against Germany will be on in the afternoon with lots of venues showing it including Sandbach Rugby Club in Bradwall Road.,

DJ Jepo is starting the warm up from 4pm. Food is available from sharing boards to the famous Sunday roasts and baps.

Sandbach United's Cross Bar will also be showing the match. Good luck Lionesses!!!
