A Sandbach man is busy adding the finishing touches his musical fundraising night tomorrow (Saturday) as part of a major project to help families in Kenya which has already raised over £1 million.
Dad-of-two Colin Dalton from Wheelock is the lead fundraiser of the North West based New Hope Support Group, a group of like-minded individuals who have dedicated time and effort to supporting a community based in Upland, Kenya.
Now the group is hoping a 80s live music and disco at Sandbach School on Saturday night will help raise £3000 to pay for the education of five children with either learning difficulties or physical difficulties.

Colin, a supply manager with Lloyds Bank, has been to help out at the project in Kenya with his family, each time funding their own expenses and providing their help free of charge.
Explaining Saturday's event Colin said: "The money will cover a year's school fees for the five children and ensure they get the appropriate support, medical treatment and physical therapy.
"The children will also learn how to do basic chores. Education and health care has to be paid for in Kenya so without this the five children will struggle to be part of the community and live at home with their families."
The band Constance will entertain the audience at Saturday's 80's night and there will also be a prize draw which will include two tickets for tickets for Liverpool vs Brighton including food and drinks, a £50 voucher for use at The Ganges in Sandbach, a handmade bear, a £10 voucher for use at @Backtrax Music Sandbach and many other prizes.
Colin said the fundraising group was founded by Anne Chege. "Anne shared the story of how someone had kindly lent her a house and she had 20 orphan girls living with her and they were surviving on the kindness of supporters and regularly didn't know where the next meal was coming from," said Colin.
"This galvanised the team into looking at ways to raise money to support these children. Subsequently they launched a sponsorship scheme where you can sponsor a child by making a monthly donation.
"The monthly donation amount is currently £7.50 and goes towards funding the education costs in order to break the cycle of poverty.
"Next challenge was building a fit for purpose Orphanage so a team of 12 ran the Amsterdam Marathon raising £12k.
"Since then we have launched schemes to support families so they can stay living together as all too often parents and grandparents were having to make the awful decision to give up their children or see them starve.
"Subsequently we have built two villages, numerous classrooms, toilet facilities, connected electricity, added water butts etc. and this has been done through many, many fundraisers, including sky dives, charity balls, Gruellathon, coast to coast cycle rides, marathons, the Overnight Channel Swim and The Three peaks."
Around 125 people have bought tickets for Saturday's fundraising event which starts at 7.30 pm and there will be limited tickets for sale on the door.
