Music lovers have a chance to catch a world famous brass band and a nationally acclaimed singer at a Christmas extravaganza this month.

Brass band champions Foden's Band and the legendary Matt Ford are staging their "Memories of Christmas" concert on December 19th.

The amazing combination who complement each other perfectly are running two shows at the Fallibroome Academy in Macclesfield.

Sandbach Nub News told recently here how Foden's were crowned 2021 National Champions at the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain.

Held at the Royal Albert Hall in London the contest featured the top 19 brass bands from around the UK – and Sandbach-based Foden's clinched the title.

And now music lovers have a chance to see Foden's "do Christmas" alongside the talented and legendary Matt Ford singer.

Matt performs all over the country with the likes of Halle, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and the Syd Lawrence Orchestra as well as multiple appearances at the BBC Proms.

Band chairman and principal trombone player, John Barber, says the band is busy rehearsing for the shows plus two performances of the Snowman in Sandbach on another date..

He said: "We all look forward to our Christmas concerts. Lots of bands come into their own at Christmas and we're all looking forward to these shows.

"The power of the band is amazing. The musicians are all handpicked and extremely talented and Matt Ford is such an excellent performer."

John says the Christmas shows will feature a range of festive songs all specially arranged for brass bands featuring old favourites from Let it Snow to I'll be Home for Christmas.

Tickets for the two Memories of Christmas shows at 2.30pm and 7pm cost £19 and are available from www.priorbooking.com/u/fodens

Fallibroome Academy is in Priory Lane, Macclesfield, SK10 4AF.
