A Sandbach tattoo studio is back open after a fire in the building layout involving the takeaway business below.

Skinsmiths Tattoos was forced to close on Saturday (January 4th) after smoke damage following a fire at The Hot Spot in High Street on Friday night.

John Roberts from Skinsmiths Tattoos said he was hoping to have a "soft opening" at the weekend following the festive break but instead spent the day giving his business a deep clean.

And he has thanked other businesses in the community who stepped in, offering coffee and refreshments while he and his helpers cleaned up at the weekend.

Customers come from as far away as Scotland and other parts of the UK to use the services of Skinsmiths whose website is here

An investigation into the cause of the fire which broke out at 8.18 pm onFriday night as we revealed here is underway.

John said: "We need a new front door and we've all lost a day's work from having to close on Saturday. I really feel for the fire crew as the building is like a rabbit warren. We can't thank The House and Godfrey Williams who gave us refreshments on Saturday.

"We' spent the day cleaning and the studio is fully open and completely sterile. We've gone above an beyond to ensure this. The smell was like charred plastics.

"We spent a full day cleaning everything down as the fire, in a room adjacent to our building, had caused smoke to seep through.

"It has been a massive inconvenience but we're just grateful that no one was hurt. We rearranged all our appointments for Saturday and we're grateful to our customers who have fully understood."
