The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for Sandbach and the surrounding area this weekend, with the town looking set to be hit with heavy or torrential rain tonight (Friday).

Widespread showers have fallen throughout the day today with a few sunny spells and a breezy afternoon with a maximum temperature of 20oC and a mild night with minimum temperature 11oC.

It looks like you will need your raincoat on Saturday too as some locally heavy and thundery rain is forecast but showers should ease throughout the evening however it will be cooler tomorrow with a maximum temperature of 18oC.

The Met Office is forecasting slow moving showers and breezy winds continuing through Sunday becoming scattered into Monday with sunny spells possible between downpours.

There is some light on the horizon though as the weather looks set to turn drier on Tuesday with plenty of sunny spells but the downside is it will remain cool for the time of year.
