The Carney Academy is bringing Legally Blonde Musical Theatre Week to Sandbach this October half-term.

Young performers from across the area are being invited to take to the stage this October as Carney Academy brings its latest Musical Theatre Performance Week to Sandbach.

Running from Monday 26 October until Saturday 31 October, the week will see young people spend their half term singing, dancing and acting as they work towards a performance inspired by the hit musical Legally Blonde.

Taking place in the theatre at Sandbach School in Crewe Road, the week is open to young performers aged seven - 17 and is designed to give participants the experience of putting together a musical production in just six days.

Throughout the week, students will work with Carney Academy's team of theatre practitioners, developing their acting, singing and dance skills while rehearsing some of the musical's best-known characters, scenes and numbers.

The week will culminate in a performance for family and friends on Saturday, 31 October.

Carney Academy Principal David Gregan-Jones said: "Our performance weeks are always such a brilliant experience. There is something really special about seeing a group of young people arrive on the first morning and then, in less than a week, watching them come together as a company and perform a show.

"Legally Blonde is perfect for this kind of week. It is funny, energetic and full of fantastic musical theatre numbers, but underneath all of that it also has a great message about believing in yourself and not allowing other people to decide what you are capable of.

"You don't have to already be an experienced performer to take part. Some of our students have performed for years and others come to us having never stepped onto a stage before. The important thing is that they want to get involved, have fun and give it a go."

The October programme follows Carney Academy's summer Musical Theatre Performance Weeks, which saw young performers take part in productions inspired by The Addams Family.

Carney Academy provides professional performing arts training for children, young people and adults, with a focus on developing acting, singing and dance skills alongside confidence, creativity and teamwork.
