Sandbach's Mayor Councillor Geraint Price Jones and his consort Christina Price Jones were there to see Sandbach United's First Team treasurer, Andrew Timms honoured to his work for the club.

Andrew was presented with honorary membership of the Hind Heath Road club on the pitch during half-time in front of fans at Saturday's match against Wythenshawe Amateurs which saw the Ramblers win 2-1.

Friends of Sandbach Cemetery gather for Saturday's launch working party

A group set up to help maintain Sandbach cemetery made a clean sweep at their launch event – thanks to the hardwork of volunteers and a Sandbach based business.

Workwear Nation, which has offices in Sandbach and Middlewich, has supplied hi-vis vests to the Friends of Sandbach Cemetery (FOSC) for the group to wear as they carry their duties out at the town's cemetery.
