UNVACCINATED Cheshire East staff who take time off work to self-isolate as a close contact of a Covid-19 case won't be classed as being off sick.

People who are double jabbed or aged under 18 are now no longer being legally required to self-isolate if they are identified as a close contact of a positive Covid-19 case. Instead they are encouraged to get a PCR test.

A Cheshire East councillor has launched a campaign with another resident to breathe new life into an overgrown playground.

Ettiley Heath and Wheelock councillor Laura Crane, who is also a Town Councillor, has joined forces with Wheelock resident, Sam Porter, to tidy up the Forge Fields playground.

Residents at a new development in Sandbach have been encouraged to brighten up their gardens and look after local bees with a donation of wildflowers.

Residents in Clay Lane, Haslington were evacuated on Saturday and the road closed for six hours when a fire broke out in an outbuilding.
