New Sponsors for 2021 Hot Spot from Sandbach

Congleton Lawn Tennis Club - the leading tennis club in South East Cheshire which also has many members from Sandbach (which is without its own club) is looking for help in 2021.

The club has over the last few years entered into partnership arrangements with local businesses across the area whereby it provides PR and publicity for these businesses in return for sponsorship of one of its club events.

Sandbach United ran out 5-2 winners over Nantwich Town in the Andy Kimber Memorial Fundraiser match.

It was a cold Wednesday night in Cheshire, and the volunteers at Sandbach United had been working tirelessly to get enough snow off the pitch for it to be deemed playable. But as the fog came rolling in, and the temperature somehow dropped even lower, the ears and hearts of Sandbach fans were warmed by the sound of the first whistle.

A flat first half from Sandbach United was enough to see Maine Road run out 4-2 winners at Brantingham Road.

Sandbach manager Andy Hockenhull made a few changes to the match day squad from before the lockdown, with stalwart defensive midfielder Callum Evans dropping to the bench and Sean Moscrop moving into the No 6 role. Bobbie McDonnell was also absent through illness, so Robbie Hatton took his place. A minute silence for the passing of Sandbach legend Andy Kimber was impeccably observed before the match got underway.

After what seemed like an eternity in lockdown, Sandbach United will finally resume their NWCFL South Division campaign against Maine Road.

The Cheshire side are an exciting side to watch this season, sitting 2nd in the league table this season and scoring 21 goals in just 7 league games. Sandbach's most recent league result came in the form of a 3-2 away win against St Martins FC, the Oswestry-based side Sandbach beat 5-1 earlier in the season. Goals in that game were scored by Scott Evans, Kieran Garner-Knapper and Bobbie McDonnell.

Sandbach United ran out 2-0 victors over Northwich Victoria in the last friendly before the league restart.

The Ramblers hosted their fellow Cheshire-based side on a cold, windy afternoon in the North of England, with a strong chill in the air as the ball was first kicked. The visitors started the stronger side and forced Danny Hamlett into a fine save after two minutes as he tipped over a looping header.

Sandbach United welcomed football back with a friendly against Premier side Bootle FC, with the away side winning 3-2.

It has been a tough week for those associated with the Ramblers, with the passing of beloved goalkeeper coach and long-time volunteer Andy Kimber. Before match proceedings, both teams and fans impeccably observed a minute's silence in loving memory of Kimber.

Sandbach United survived a St Martins fightback in a nervy final 15 minutes to win 3-2.

Sandbach were fresh off a fantastic 3-1 away win to a strong Cammell Laird 1907 side, with Player of the Month nominee Josh Lane putting in an outstanding performance winning two penalties and scoring the third goal. Unsurprisingly, Lane retained his place in the side as Andy Hockenhull named an unchanged starting 11.

Sandbach United saw their winning start to the season halted by the new table toppers Vauxhall Motors, with the home side running out 2-1 winners at the Syncreon Arena.

Andy Hockenhull made one change from the side that convincingly beat St Martins 5-1, with in-form Robbie Hatton unfortunately unavailable. However, promising young striker Bobbie McDonnell passed his fitness test following a recent knee issue to start the game.
