Led by Vicky Pulman of Needlessly Felted
Immerse yourself in a mindful and tactile creative experience as we explore the magic of wet felting through the theme of Autumn in Cheshire.
In this inspiring workshop, you'll explore the rich palette of autumn – layering glowing russets, golden ochres, and mossy greens in wools, silks, and fibres. As you learn how to build depth, texture, and atmosphere, you'll capture the shifting light and quiet beauty of the season in your own unique felted artwork.
We'll cover key techniques for beginners and returning felters alike, from choosing and blending colours, to laying fibres for texture and shaping, to using warm soapy water and gentle pressure to transform raw fleece into a richly felted artwork.
Expect to explore the colours and textures of autumn – from glowing sunsets and turning leaves to soft, misty mornings. There's no right or wrong, just the freedom to layer fibres, play with warm seasonal tones, and enjoy the creative process in a relaxed and supportive setting.
All equipment and materials provided, including:
- A wide selection of wool roving in rich autumnal tones
- Silk fibres, bamboo tops and locks for shimmer, texture and flow
- Wooden tools, netting and bamboo mats for rolling, fulling and shaping
- Warm soapy water and felting mats
- Aprons and towels (though feel free to bring your own if preferred)
You'll leave with:
Your own wet felted 2D autumn-inspired landscape, full of colour and motion – perfect for framing, gifting, or using as a base for further stitch work.
Whether you're curious to try wet felting for the first time or looking to deepen your practice, this workshop is designed to be welcoming, creative, and full of inspiration. Refreshments included, with time to chat and connect as we work. Bring a packed lunch or local cafes and shops nearby.
