Michelle Jackson is the Hospital Business Manager for the North West and West Midlands for Macclesfield's Spectrum Ophthalmics and it is her turn this week to take our Ten Questions...
What is the best bit of your job?
Being responsible for running my own Territory and also having the privilege of being present in theatre. I also enjoy interacting with both Ophthalmologists and their teams to both educate and support them with regard to refractive lens technologies, whilst helping them to select the most suitable lens for each patient. It is a pleasure to hear about the positive outcomes and knows that what I do helps to improve not only a patient's vision but also their life in general. It allows patients to lead a full and active lifestyle, which is not restricted by poor or inferior vision.
What is the worst part of your part of my job?
Having to occasionally work away from home and therefore being away from my Fiancé and three beautiful children.
What is the most valuable lesson you've learnt in business?
Be tenacious, never give up and learn from your mistakes.
What is your proudest achievement?
Graduating from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology with a 1st Class Masters Degree in Biomedical Materials Science.
Where and what do you see yourself doing in 10 years' time
Running a very successful business.
What motivates you?
hearing stories about how patients' lives have been positively changed following the implantation of one of our intraocular lenses.
What was your first job?
Sales assistant at PC World.
Describe yourself in three words...
Friendly, Ambitious and Happy.

Yes, I would like to think that my friends see me as a happy and friendly person, who is caring and goes out of their way to help others.
Favourite place in Cheshire?
Dunham Massey, as it is a lovely place to take my family for a bit of fresh air at the weekend, whilst allowing us all to recharge our batteries in time for the week ahead.
