A Co-op store manager is celebrating – after getting signs put up in the car park of his Sandbach store to make it safer for customers.

Nick James, manager of the Co-op's Lawton Way branch in Elworth, responded to feedback from residents and customers about the lack of signs.

Now the popular store, in Lawton Way, has clearly designated signs in the car park showing the way in and the way out.

Nick said: "It's a busy car park and we just wanted to remind people to use the way in and out to make it safer for everyone.

"This a welcome addition to the store. The new signs will make the site safer for both pedestrians and motorists."

Nick, who has worked for the Co-op for 30 years, says he was responding to feedback from local residents and customers.

"It's a large car park and we just felt it would be better to put clear signage up showing the way in and out.

"It will make it safer for everyone and I'm pleased it's happened so quickly. We were looking for a solution to feedback.

"I only asked a few weeks ago and now the signs are here which is great."

Nick James has worked in large Co-op stores such as Alsager and Talke and has also been a Co-op area manager as we revealed in our story here but his first love is managing stores.

He loves working with the team and developing staff's potential, pushing them to reach their full capacity giving them the confidence to "grow" at work, ensuring that his store runs like clockwork, delivering the highest quality service to his valued customers.

When you buy selected Co-op products and services, 2p for every £1 you spend goes into your Co-op Membership account and Co-op gives the same amount to support community organisations and local causes.
