A Sandbach cake maker found her epic design skills delivering Olympic proportions when she was tasked with making a cake for the North West's "golden" couple.

Debbie Fenton, owner of Lois's Little Cake & Chocolate Company in Green Street, made a birthday cake for Olympian couple, Jason and Laura Kenny's son, Albie last year.

So impressed were the Kenny's family with the cake that Debbie was once again tasked with making something special – this time as a welcome home for the couple.

Lois's Little Cake & Chocolate Company whisked up a stunning cake with the couple's figures and a velodrome to mark their homecoming from the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Debbie said: "We follow each other on twitter. I had a call from her family about five days ago asking if I would make them a cake and I was delighted.

"Everything on the cake, a chocolate fudge cake is edible, even the flags and the outside of the velodrome which is silver.

"I air brushed the top and ensured every little detail was followed. I have so much respect for them and for Laura who is a working mum. She is incredible."

The couple, who live in Chelford, have 12 gold medals and three silver medals between them.

Jason won his seventh gold medal in the men's keirin final and Laura is the first British woman to win gold at three consecutive Olympic Games.
