A Sandbach dog owner has appealed for people to come forward with information nearly two weeks after her two beloved Labradors Retrievers went missing.

Evie and Ivy went missing from the farm where they live on Elton Lane on 6 May and there have been no sightings since.

Holleigh May, the owner, told Sandbach Nub News that she fears the pair may have been taken.

She said: "We live on a farm, so they just wander around. They both turned eight this year and they've never gone off before.

"They're big dogs, so it's not like they could just go down a rabbit hole. They're big chunky Labradors which makes us feel like someone's picked them up."

Holleigh's appeal to find the dogs has been shared online thousands of times, but as of yet, no one has come forward with reliable information on their whereabouts.

"The worst part of it is the not knowing. Not knowing where they are and not knowing if they're okay," she added.

Ivy, the chocolate Labrador, was bread by the family, so has been with them since birth and Evie was rehomed following a difficult life at a puppy farm.

Holleigh said: "It's just heartbreaking to think [Evie] had a horrible start in life and there's a chance we don't know how the end of her life will be.

"We just want our dogs back. They're no good to anyone else; they're both overweight, they're both spayed, they're both microchipped and one is limping. The only people they're good for is us. They're part of our family."

There is a "substantial award" available to anyone with information that results in the return of the dogs, Holleigh said.

Police have been notified, but without any sightings, they have not had much information to go on in their search for the pair.

"My youngest isn't even two yet and he will walk around the kitchen saying, 'dog, dog, dog', almost asking where they are," Holleigh said. "They're not just an animal or even just a pet, they are a part of our family that we love."

If you have seen Evie and Ivy or have any information on their whereabouts, you can contact the family by ringing 07917422489.

You can also contact the police by calling 101 and quote the incident reference IML 983633.
