Pupils from Cheshire Hall School in Sandbach recently welcomed officers from Congleton Police for an interactive session to give pupils insight into life in the force.

The visit offered a range of practical experiences aimed at bringing policing careers to life.

Children and young people had the opportunity to try on police uniforms, explore a police vehicle up close, and learn more about the important role officers play in keeping the local community safe.

A key highlight of the session was a communications activity in which pupils stepped into the role of officers by learning and practising the phonetic alphabet over police radios.

This initiative forms part of Cheshire Hall School's ongoing commitment to providing inclusive and supportive experiences that help pupils build confidence, develop communication skills, and explore future career aspirations.

Paul Lyons, Head Teacher commented: "Experiences like this give our pupils a valuable insight into real-world careers, while also helping them build confidence, communication skills, and teamwork.

"Seeing our pupils so enthusiastic and fully immerse, especially during the phonetic alphabet challenge was fantastic, and we are very grateful to the officers for their time and support."

Cheshire Hall School is a special education needs school in Sandbach, supporting the needs of a diverse group of pupils, including ADHD, autism, speech, language & communication difficulties and social & emotional difficulties.
