Sandbach SportsZone's first birthday offers include free activities, £250 prizes and FREE drinks during the month-long celebrations

SportsZone, Sandbach's premier sports and social venue, is celebrating its first birthday this weekend.

The leisure hub, in Moston Rd, Sandbach, featuring hi-tech sports activities, is a top destination for sports fans and families.

And to celebrate, it is having a month's worth of offers which start on Saturday (May 23) and will roll on across the four weeks.

These offers include:

Week 1, from May 23: For just May 23, our birthday, all activities will be FREE, golf, pool and darts.

Also, get a stamp card and for every five beers or glasses of wine you buy get one FREE; PLUS, our golf sims have been reduced to just £10 an hour for the month;

Week 2, from May 30: 'The hole-in-one challenge'. Win a £250 voucher for the SportsZone if you get a hole-in-one on the golf sim;

Week 3, from June 6: If you get or have a SportsZone membership card, get 25% off food, drink and activities (*excluding existing offers);

Week 4, from June 13: Any customer who has filled in the drinks card and added their email address will be entered in a prize draw to win a £250 voucher for SportsZone.

Opened in May 2025 following a major transformation of a former swimming pool site, the Sandbach-based facility has quickly become a hub for competitive play, live sport and community activity.

Sports Coaching Group, which operates the venue, says the past 12 months have exceeded expectations, with strong demand from families, local businesses and young people alike.

At the heart of SportsZone's appeal is its mix of high-tech and traditional sporting experiences.

Visitors can take on virtual golf courses, compete in darts or enjoy a game of pool, all within a modern indoor setting as we revealed in this article here

Large screens showing live sport have also helped cement its reputation as a go-to venue for major events.

But beyond the sport, the venue has carved out a dual identity as both a social bar and community space.

Its food and drink offering has proved equally popular, with customers able to enjoy a full menu while taking part in activities or watching live fixtures.

The venue is also one of the few in the area to stock Hawkstone Beer, the brand created by TV personality Jeremy Clarkson, adding to its unique appeal.

The site has also played a key role in youth provision, hosting Teen HAF sessions through its YouthZone programme, offering free activities and meals during school holidays to support local young people.

It is also a centre for alternative education provision during the day.

Sports Coaching Commercial director, Charlie Chorlton, said the vision from day one was to create something different.

"Our aim was to build the number one premier sports and social venue in the area, somewhere people can compete, connect and relax.

"But it is also adaptable, so it has been used for teenagers to chill out and relax during the school holidays and during term-time for alternative education provision students.

"It is really an excellent facility.

"Seeing how the community has embraced SportsZone in its first year has been incredible."

Looking ahead, plans are already underway to expand the experience.

A new outdoor "FansZone" is set to launch in time for the football World Cup in June, providing a dedicated space for supporters, alongside additional social areas to meet growing demand.

With a blend of sport, entertainment and community engagement, SportsZone's first year suggests it is well on its way to becoming a lasting fixture in the region's leisure landscape.
