A monthly repair cafe which stops items going to landfill is celebrating celebrated its third birthday on Saturday (19 September).

The Repair Cafe Sandbach, run by Sandbach Partnership, was set up in September 2023 and since then has gone from strength to strength.

At the weekend, repairers celebrated the success of the project which takes place at St Peter's Church Hall on the third Saturday of the month from 11 am until 2 pm.

Sandbach Partnership chair, Helen Dorney said: "'The team of fixers just love to fix things. We are grown up versions of kids that take things apart to 'see how this works'. The good news is we also have the skills to repair them and put them back together!'

'Every repair cafe is different. Sometimes it's seasonal so we see leaf blowers in Oct and hedge trimmers in April. Sometimes it's years of use and 'it just stopped working!' That tends to be food mixers and sewing machines'

"But the best items are the sentimental ones, the teddy that needs a new nose or the picture frame from gran that's stand got broken.

"It's a genuine pleasure to be at the repair cafe every month and see the delight of Sandbach residents when we fix their items.The team of fixers just love to fix things.
