Hot on the heels of Sandbach Market Festival, the town's annual Wakes Fair comes to town on Friday (25 September) on Scotch Common.

The event always attracts visitors from far and wide and continues until Monday (28 September).

Joe White's Funfairs will be bringing rides for young and old as well as rides for smaller children, games and refreshments for all ages.

Scotch Common car park will be closed from Thursday( 24 September) from 12 noon until the morning of Tuesday (29 September) at 6am for setting up and dismantling.

The fair opens on Friday and on Saturday (26 September) there will be free bus travel within the town boundaries on services 37, 38 and 317

The free bus fares are funded by the UK Government, Cheshire East Council and the Cheshire East Bus Partnership.

A spokesperson for Sandbach Town Council said: "We hope that everyone has a fantastic time at the traditional Wakes Fair event in Sandbach.

"It is an opportunity for families to come together to have fun in town and we are looking forward to its return."
