A road near Sandbach town centre is to remain closed until next week while work is done to improve water pipes.

Motorists are unable to use the bottom half of the road which joins on to Middlewich Road near Sandbach High School and Sixth Form College.

A spokesperson for United Utilities said: "Our teams started work on Platt Avenue in Sandbach this week to enhance our network of water pipes in the area.

"Water will continue to flow to customers' taps while the work is taking place. We are sorry for any convenience caused by the closure of a short part of the road."

Motorists are advised to use an alternative route while the work, due to continue until Tuesday (August 23rd) is carried

out.
