A Sandbach church creates its own version of the War Horse with a war hero remembrance display
A Sandbach church has created its own take on the popular War Horse by Michael Morpurgo for a remembrance display.
Last year, St Mary's Church in the centre of Sandbach had a 'ghost soldier' at the cenotaph and inside the church in High Street.
This year, St Mary's has gone a step further with a wire sculpture of a war hero, Tommy Atkins and his war horse.
The exhibit is life-size and has sound effects and music to bring it to life at the church in High Street.

The famous Michael Morpurgo novel which was made into a film and became a stage production, recounts the experiences of the horse Joey.
And just like the famous book, St Mary's' remembrance display has a story to tell as a church spokesperson explained.
"Tommy wears a Cheshire Regiment badge. The horse's number is 229.
"I strongly recommend that everyone visits the magnificent exhibit - it really is incredible, complete with memorial poppies and sound effects."
The church is open daily from 10 am until 3 pm and anyone is welcome to go and view Tommy and his war horse.
