An Arclid artist who did work for the prestigious Lion & Swan hotel in Congleton will see his work on TV today (Tuesday).

The Cheshire hotel, sister hotel Sandbach's Wheatsheaf, is featuring on today's episode of the hit Channel 4 show 'Four in a Bed' and Paul Benbow's artistic talents will be on show for thousands to see.

He said: "Only a small section of a foliage piece of art in the restaurant at the Lion & Swan so Channel 4 tell me is on but I will take that!"

Paul Benbow spends his spare time away from teaching geography at All Hallows' Catholic College in Macclesfield painting.

He was commissioned by the Lion & Swan to do a series of paintings for the popular venue where he has held live workshops exhibiting his talents.

Paul uses the dining room table in the lounge of his family's Arclid home to paint but would one day love to open a small gallery in Sandbach.

Sandbach Nub News told last year https://sandbach.nub.news/news/local-news/teacher-and-artist-from-sandbach-brings-the-natural-world-to-life-for-everyone how he enjoys watching David Attenborough documentaries which provide inspiration for some of his work.

His two latest paintings are heading to The Beer Emporium Bottle Bank in Holmes Chapel.

A spokesperson from the Lion & Swan said: "Tune in to see General Manager. Katie Glover, and Assistant General Manager, Jess Boyle-Fitch, take part in the competition."
