Award-winning Foden's Band clinch this year's British Opens Champions title

Sandbach's award-winning Foden's Band is celebrating again – after notching up another title.

The band was crowned the British Open Champions at the weekend and now go forward to represent England at the European Championships in Norway 2025.

The band took part in the 169th British Open Championships in Birmingham and beat 17 other bands from to take top place.  

A Foden's spokesperson said: "This year, 18 bands all performed the set work 'Sand and Stars' by Thierry Deleruyelle.

"This exceptionally difficult work placed demanding challenges on all band members lasting 20 minutes.

"Despite these challenges, the work proved a popular choice amongst those competing and the 1500 plus audience.

Tow Foden's member also notched up other titles – the Stanley Wainwright Memorial trophy went to Gary Curtin and the Brian Evans Memorial trophy for Best Soprano to Richard Poole.
