Around 354 runners took part in the race from Sandbach Rugby Club in Bradwall Road around the local area in sweltering temperatures.

Race director, Martin Gunther said: "It was our biggest yet. We were sold out and delighted it was another successful event."

Mayor, Councillor Ann Nevitt, presented the winners' awards with the fastest man and woman both from the city of Stoke-On-Trent.

Lucy Crayston was the fastest woman while David Morris was the fastest man. Crowds gathered to watch the annual event organised and run by Sandbach Striders with around 50 volunteer marshals.

The annual event, in its 17th year, saw runners from a variety of clubs across the area, including Congleton and Cheshire Harriers.

There was plenty to keep runners and spectators occupied including music and refreshments plus stalls which saw some roads closed to traffic while the race was going on.

Congratulations to all runners who took part!
