BREAKING: Crewe Road in Sandbach closed in both directions after serious accident

Police are warning motorists to avoid the area after a main road in Sandbach was closed due to a serious collision.

The Air Ambulance was called in earlier on Thursday 13 November, after a collision between two vehicles near Sandbach School in Crewe Road near Union Street.

The incident involved a a black Lamborghini and a Red Vauxhall Viva, with the Vauxhall driver, a man in his 80s, suffering "serious injuries."

The road has been closed and police and emergency workers were spotted at the scene.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "At 10.05am on Thursday 13 November, police were called to reports of a collision on Crewe Road, Sandbach.

"The collision involved two vehicles, a black Lamborghini and a Red Vauxhall Viva.

"The driver of the Vauxhall, a man in his 80s, suffered serious injuries.

"Emergency services remain in attendance at the scene and investigation work is currently underway.

"A full road closure is in place on Crewe Road from the roundabout at Middlewich Road to Park Lane. Motorists are advised to avoid the area at this time."
