Thousands of homes have been plunged into chaos today (Thursday) following a power cut in Sandbach.

Power went off around 1.15 pm cutting off internet connections and other electrical equipment and appliances.

A note on SP Energy Networks reads: "There is a power cut affecting the CW11 and CW1 postcode area of Sandbach and Crewe.

"We aim to restore power by 3.08 pm but may be able to get some customers on sooner.

"The timeframe may change based on our investigations and the work required to fix the issue. We will keep you updated with any changes.

The latest updates can be found on our website here . We are sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience."

Sandbach Nub News will update this as soon as more information is available.
