Wildlife has been blamed for a power cut involving thousands of homes in Sandbach

Thousands of homes in the CW11 postcode were left without elelctricty earlier today (Thursday) due to a fault.
Wildlife on the overhead line network is being blamed for the power cut at 1.08 pm today (Thursday).
SP Networks customers received the following message: "Your power cut was caused by wildlife on the overhead line network.
"Our teams have now completed all repairs to restore supplies. We do not anticipate any further interruptions. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused."
An SP Energy Networks spokesperson said: "A fault occurred on our network affecting customers in CW1 and CW11 postcodes at 13.08 today.
"The majority of our customers had their power restored within two minutes of the fault occurring and power was restored to the remaining affected customers by 14.45 pm.
"We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused."
